Last time I ran was on Thanksgiving Day at the Mt. Prospect Turkey Trot. I need to get back into building a solid base so running starts tomorrow! Need to get some miles up on that Mile Tally; starting to look pathetic.
Hey great to get in on the ground floor, this time last year I was exactly where you are now, had many highs and lows in 2007 and now looking forward to 2008's adventures!
What training plan will you be following?
Also check out Nutrition for Endurance Athletes; Monique Ryan and Paleo Diet for Endurance Athletes' Joe Friel both are great reads
who is slb+, I'm going to work on building a solid base for the next few months then I think I'll follow the Non-Runners' Marathon Trainer, which took me from couch potato to 16 miles in '07.
John, a lot of the songs on my playlist are my husband's suggestions - - those are the songs (Anthrax, Metallica, etc) that you're probably referring to :)
The Von Bondies gave it away . . .we are fans of Rescue Me :)
Happily married . . . mom of two . . .still desperately trying to lose "baby" weight while well aware that my kids are now 6 and 4 years old . . . appear organized to the outside world but my husand knows it's just a facade . . . would like to be caught up with laundry once in my life . . .participated in Chicago Marathon '07 and made it to mile 16 before race was called due to excessive heat . . .training for my second first marathon or Chicago '08 interrupted due to injury . . .training for Chicago' 09 or my third first marathon while raising money for the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation.
