Apparently it was too many crazies (that should be sleeping) trying to get in at once.
I loved this question on the registration form:
"Is this your first, second third, . . . Chicago Marathon?"

my first marathon was Chicago in 2006 and i had a great experience so i figured i would do it again in 2007. not so much! i finished but, as you know, it was ugly. i was debating about doing it in 2008 to redeem myself but when i saw that they are still trying to have 45,000 runners, i think i've made up my mind to do detroit instead....
